The first six months of the special Tour centre at the largest alcoholic beverage production company in Baltics has passed. Latvijas balzams shows the story of alcohol production and filtering processes, production of vodka, the legendary Riga Black Balsam and other drinks, labels and bottles, about filling challenges and other industry-specific topics.

“We are very pleased that the tour centre offer has attracted almost a thousand visitors from all over the world. In addition to the great interest of Latvian residents, tourists are arriving from the Baltic and Scandinavian countries, as well as USA, Australia, UK, Spain, Singapore and other countries,” said Head of Latvijas balzams Tour centre Ineta Krankale.

Celebrating the first six months of the Tour centre, a special tour took place during which Justs Kiscenko, the global brand ambassador for Latvia’s first premium gin, Cross Keys Gin, offered to attend a special gin workshop. Not only did he provide insights into the history and production secrets of this highly regarded beverage, but also suggested ways of serving it and unveiled how it tastes in several cocktails.

“We have received very good feedback from visitors who regularly praise the quality of our tours, the work of the tour guides, the dynamics of the tour and the visuals prepared,” says Ineta Krankale. “When visitors get to know that they will be guided by actual factory staff, they always have a positive surprise.” The availability of the service – convenient registration in the webpage, diverse payment options, convenient location and parking facilities are also highly appreciated. People are also keen to buy gift cards for sightseeing tours.

“During the tour, we have experienced several fun situations – a group from Lithuania came to the tour with an impressive, very long white limousine, which blocked almost all traffic. Also, guests actively share suggestions on what Latvijas balzams should produce: vodka with water from the Holy spring in Aglona, Riga Black Balsam with the taste of hemp or dandelion, as well as what the bottles and their designs should look like,” says Ineta Krankale.

Latvijas balzams Tour centre was established with the aim to provide insight into the history, development and production processes of the production unit, as well as to raise public awareness of the beverage industry. With the opening of the Tour centre, the offer of tourism products in Latvia and Riga has been diversified, providing an opportunity to enjoy an unprecedented experience.
